Star Wars Idiocy

Many people these days criticize the Star Wars sequels and other recent Disney Star Wars productions, and rightly so.

With the exception of just a few stand-outs such as Andor, Disney has really driven Star Wars right into the ground with their incompetence. It’s worth noting, however, that the problems with Star Wars didn’t really start there. They started with the prequels.

While there were many things about the prequels that really started the ruin of Star Wars, the one thing I want to focus on at the moment are the midi-chlorians. Before the midi-chlorians, the Force was mystical and magical, not to mention mysterious. After the introduction of the wee beasties, it turns out the Force, or the ability to use the Force, is simply the result of parasites.

Realistically, this would have lead to all sorts of things.

Every baby that was born within the Empire would have had its midi-chlorian count tested and those found to have any at all would have either been taken by the Empire to turn into a dark Jedi army or the midi-chlorians would have been harvested to be used in some project.

At some point they also would have inevitably come across some sort of planet where the trees or something similar collected a high amount of midi-chlorians as part of their natural process, and the Empire would have been able to harvest those as well, essentially creating their own super Jedis and perhaps finding ways to incorporate the midi-chlorians into other tech too. That’s just one small example of how it was really the prequels that began the pattern of turning Star Wars into garbage. What Disney has done since certainly hasn’t helped, but the issues with Star Wars started before then.

And that’s not even saying anything about Indiana Jones.
